Peer Support Services

Recovery mentors (people who are living well in their own recovery from mental illness) assist adults with mental illness on the journey of recovery by providing support through shared experience.

Key to Success

Key to Success is a program that is designed to assist individuals with mental health struggles to obtain or recover successful and satisfying roles in their community. Key to Success staff members give hope to participants through guiding and assisting them in identifying a desired daily living goal of either work, education, socialization or choice of residence. Once a goal is identified, staff then help the participants gain the tools, supports and resources needed to be successful in achieving their dream. Designed to assist people in obtaining (or recovering) successful and satisfying roles in their community. Focused on goal setting; Assessing daily living goals, education goals, work goals, and social goals. Helping gain the tools needed to remain successful and satisfied with life.

Participants receive services through:

  • Group settings twice a week (2-3 hours per session)
  • Individual sessions once a week (1 hour per session)

Peer Support Services

Recovery mentors are people who are living well in their own recovery from mental illness. Mentors assist adults with mental illness on the journey of recovery by providing support through shared experience.

Peer Support is a Medicaid funded program administered by the MCO’s of Iowa. Regional funding may also be obtained by application, Private pay options are also available. Peer Support is designed to assist an individual with mental illness seek recovery by pairing them with a mentor who has experience with similar issues and is currently living well.

A Recovery mentor uses their personal recovery story to instill hope. The Recovery mentor walks alongside the client, providing support and guidance on the recovery journey. Recovery Mentors assist individuals in working on their desired goals, often assisting people in developing coping skills, building support networks, and developing other needed life skills. Recovery Mentors also assist clients by linking them with other support services that might be helpful. Locations: Sioux, Lyon, Osceola, O’Brien, Clay, Dickinson, Palo Alto, Emmet Counties in Iowa.
