Give the Gift of Hope this Christmas Season

Home looks different for everyone. For Jon, home is now the place he shares with his sister, Shelly. Jon was already living in Shelly’s home when she became one of Hope Haven’s first Host Home providers. What started as a practical next step quickly grew into something far more meaningfu l. As Shelly shared, “Opening our home to Jon was a blessing we didn’t know we needed.” Through Hope Haven’s Host Home program, individuals with disabilities live in the homes of carefully selected providers who offer guidance, companionship, and everyday support. Host Homes are just one of several residential options at Hope Haven, alongside staffed community living homes, because no two individuals require the same level or style of care. What matters most is creating a place where people can live safely, grow their independence, and feel truly included. For Jon, that environment means being part of everyday family life, whether that’s grocery shopping and shared meals or being able to help with Shelly’s in-home daycare. “Living here makes me feel happy,” Jon says. For Shelly’s family, the experience has been transformative. “We’ve all become more patient and understanding,” she shares. “My boys have learned gratitude, acceptance, and what it means to truly welcome someone into your life.” That mutual impact is what makes Host Homes unique. “It doesn’t feel like a job,” Shelly explains. “It’s more of a relationship. You get to help someone feel independent, yet safe.” She was quick to add that the impact goes both ways. As she puts it, “You just might meet your best friend.” Because of supporters like you, individuals like Jon have the opportunity to live in a home where they are supported and valued — not just as clients, but as people. Your generosity makes it possible for Hope Haven to offer a range of residential supports, creating safe, stable, relationship-centered living options for individuals with disabilities right here in our communities. “Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.” — Romans 12:10 If you wish to contribute, please CLICK HERE to donate today. During the Christmas season, we take time to reflect on what truly matters – expressing gratitude and sharing our love with others. We find joy in God’s presence, celebrate, and show our thankfulness through acts of giving. This Christmas, offer the GIFT OF HOPE by providing a wheelchair and sharing the love of Jesus to transform a life.

MEET 8-YEAR-OLD ISABELLA

From the dark depths of hopelessness to the light of purpose, Isabella’s story is truly miraculous. As a young girl, Isabella had no movement in her legs. After 8 years of being carried by her father and traveling 18 hours by bus, Isabella’s life changed forever, receiving a Hope Haven’s kidchair – her GIFT OF HOPE.

According to the World Health Organization, 80 million people today need a wheelchair worldwide, yet only 5-35% have access to one. By giving a gift of mobility, you are improving the lives of people with disabilities, granting them dignity and a path to a brighter future.

Thanks to HHIM and faithful supporters like you, God has opened a new path to meet Isabella’s physical, emotional, and spiritual needs by receiving a custom-fitted wheelchair. The support she had been waiting for finally arrived, helping her develop the skills needed to reach her full God-given potential. As Isabella’s

father watched his little girl use her hands to push the wheels for the first time, she looked up at him with the biggest smile. Tears of happiness filled his eyes, knowing his daughter felt a newfound sense of independence. Having been carried through a seemingly hopeless situation, Isabella has now been given the freedom that will always protect, always persevere, and never fail.

In November 2024, HHIM partnered with Living With Hope to distribute 450 wheelchairs in Kenya. This initiative provided life-changing mobility aids to children and adults of all ages, aiming to restore dignity and create opportunities for those in need. This year, HHIM has delivered over 2000 wheelchairs and yet leaving hundreds more still waiting for their GIFT OF HOPE.

Proverbs 18:16 tells us that “giving a gift can open doors.” Across the globe, people like Isabella spend hours, days, or years in isolation, unable to experience the dignity and freedom they deserve. This Christmas, give a GIFT of a lifetime, a GIFT of hope, a GIFT of a wheelchair – wrapped in God’s love. When you donate, you are not just giving a gift – you are transforming lives, enabling independence, and opening doors towards a better tomorrow.
