Today we're featuring an interview from our intern, Rachel. Rachel is a student at Northwestern College, and shares her experience and take-aways from interning with Hope Haven.
How has your Hope Haven experience made a positive impact in your life/outlook/career?
My experience at Hope Haven has made a positive impact in my life and career as I have found I love working with children and aiding in the empowerment of individuals with mental illness.
What would you say to others considering a job with Hope Haven?
To those considering a job with Hope Haven, I would say take it because there is nothing more rewarding than being able to be part of a Christ-centered team promoting the wellness of those in need.
What are a few things you have learned through your experience with Hope Haven?
I have learned through my experience with Hope Haven that every individual is uniquely different and has their own set of gifts, desires, and aspirations.
What do you think are some misconceptions about working at Hope Haven?
I think some misconceptions about working at Hope Haven are that the persons served are not as capable of functioning or contributing to society or their community, when in actuality there are many who enjoy working, learning, and interacting with their community.
