In this blog we share a Q&A interview with Community Living Lead Jodi Frye and what she loves about her job…
Q: How did you come to be in your position?
A: I knew the position was open but I was not sure about the hours. I prayed and thought it over and applied. I knew the guys well from previously working with them at My Day and some shifts at the house so I knew I would get along well with them being their lead.
Q: What gifts do you bring to your role?
A: I love working with people! Seeing anyone reach any goal is so rewarding! And working with someone for awhile on a goal and helping them reach it is even more rewarding!
Q: What lessons have you learned working at Hope Haven?
A: Patience! We are all different! Everyone is beautiful in the way God made them!!
Q: What is your favorite part of your job?
A: The smiles! I tell our clients constantly I love their smiles because I really do!!
Q: What is your favorite part of your work day?
A: Just working with them helping them or watching them help themselves do something. Coworkers! Love seeing them and working with them in a great environment with the same goals!
Q: What’s the hardest part of your job?
A: Sometimes the hours do get long and you just have to take a deep breath and keep going.
Q: What is your day not complete without?
Q: If you were training a new team member what advice would you give them?
A: Patience! Our clients may not be used to you yet but they are appreciative you are here!!
Q: Name three things on your bucket list:
1. Seeing Fourth of July fireworks around the Statue of Liberty!
2. Buying my own huge house so I can help more foster kids and special needs families.
3. Growing my family!
