Today we’re introducing you to another one of our many Hope Haven Heroes. We are acknowledging these staff members for going above and beyond during the pandemic. They have volunteered to work in Hope Haven community living sites that have tested positive for COVID-19. And these are not the only heroes – over sixty staff have volunteered to help out in this way if needed. We are so grateful to their dedication to the people that we serve. Keep reading to learn more about Consuela and why she is a “Hope Haven Hero”.

Consuela Anderson – Direct Support Professional

How long have you been with Hope Haven?  I have been with Hope Haven since 2015.

How did you make the decision to help out in homes that have tested positive for COVID?   I choose to work in the house that tested positive! I know the needs and cares and are able to give adequate care to all the clients I serve on a regular basis.

What have been some challenges and surprising positives at work during this time?  It’s hard for a lot of clients to stay in their rooms they are counting on me to provide activities for them to partake in too keep them entertained. I work for an amazing company and have a great team of different co-workers who give their time and effort making sure the clients needs are met on a daily basis 24/7.

Any other thoughts?  It’s been a pleasure to see the smiles on the clients face even in the quarantine they are the ones who should be featured!
