What is Peer Support?
Hope Haven's Peer Support Program is designed to:
Pair up a trained person who has experienced mental health issues with another person who is seeking support.
Deliver this help in the community through individual contacts and phone calls.
Empower and link people with supports that are necessary to increase success and satisfaction in the role and environment of their choice.
Who will you see?
A Peer Support Specialist who:
Has experienced mental health issues themselves;
Completed a ten hour Peer Support Training;
Is directly supervised by Mental Health Professionals.
Are You Eligible?
You may be if you answer yes to the following:
Adult ages 18-65;
Have a psychiatric diagnosis from a psychiatrist;
Are under the care of a board eligible psychiatrist;
Stable in your mental illness;
Risk to self and others is low;
Accepting of interventions;
Living in a community based setting;
Title XIX eligible or have another funding source.
