  • In the fiscal year 2010, Hope Haven served 1,355 people; 818 adults and 561 children

  • Hope Haven currently serves individuals in  58 out of the 99 counties in Iowa

 How many service locations are there?

  • Vocational – 3
  • Residential – 30 in Iowa; 4 in Minnesota

  • We also offer Respite, Child Welfare and Remedial Service, Family Team Meeting, Dream Teams, Victim Offender Mediation, and Child Mental Health Services

 How often do I get paid if I work for Hope Haven?

  • Bi-weekly

 Do you offer any opportunities for pay increases?

  • Yes, if you complete your orientation period, obtain your Medication Manager/CPR Certification, and Skill Advancement.

 What kind of shifts do you offer?

  • Day shifts start from 6:00am to 8:00am and run anywhere from 8-12 hours. Evening shifts begin approximately at 2:00pm to 4:00pm and run anywhere from 8-12 hours. Overnight shifts start approximately at 10:00pm to 11:00pm and run anywhere from 8-12 hours. Your schedule can be a combination of any of these shifts.

 If I work an overnight, will I be able to sleep?

  • At our adolescent homes there is no sleep while working. In the adult waiver/group homes and in or respite services you are allowed anywhere from 3-6 hours of sleep time.

 What are the main duties of an overnight shift?

  • It varies in each site; however the most common duties would include cleaning, bed checks, and being available for clients if they need something.

 Do I need to know how to use a computer?

  • Yes,  All documentation for clients is completed on the computer, follows a specific format, and needs to be completed on each shift.
